Principles of Research Data Management
Join us for the sixth session in the CaSDaR Data Stewardship Training series, designed specifically for data stewards looking to strengthen their research data management practice.
Research data management (RDM) provides the foundation for making research data organised, understandable, reusable, and sustainable over time. For data stewards, developing an understanding of how data evolve throughout a research project is an important first step toward supporting good data practices and enabling long-term research value.
This interactive introductory session explores the core principles of research data management through the Digital Curation Centre (DCC)’s Data Lifecycle Model. Participants will examine the different stages that research data move through, from creation to storage, sharing, preservation, and reuse. They will also consider how decisions made at one stage can influence outcomes later in the lifecycle.
Whether you are new to data stewardship or looking to consolidate your skills, this session emphasises conceptual understanding and reflection. It will provide participants with a foundation for engaging with research data management and the role of data stewardship in research environments.
This training sessions will be run by Digital Curation Centre (DCC).
