The 21st International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC27) takes place in Lisbon, Portugal, between 9-12 February 2027.
FAIR DO's: Centring People in the Stewardship and Curation of Digital Objects.
The FAIR principles emphasise machine actionability, but the increasing integration of artificial intelligence systems into data infrastructure carries the risk of marginalising people in the planning, management, and practice of digital curation.
The theme of this year’s conference acknowledges the crucial role of people in making digital objects FAIR. This includes the labour involved, how it is recognised, supported, and the values that guide this work.
Registration will open in late September 2026.
